A shot of sanity

As you can tell by the title, I am not talking about a CHB column today. Instead, how about a little change of pace toward the positive? Bob Ryan has written a really excellent column today. Basically, he voices the incredulity many of us feel at watching half the fan base alternatively jump on and off the bandwagon based on whether or not the Red Sox have won or lost 2 games in a row, and tells these people to stop getting their panties in a bunch. After all, come on, guys, we're not Yankees fans.

So Bob Ryan, I salute you, and I wish you would give your colleague lessons.

Absolutely. Ryan hits the nail on the head. Great of you to point it out as well!

We are NOT Yankees fans, dammit!

And Ryan certainly is not CHB!

Ryan even did a little research on Tim Corcoran's background, how novel....CHB would have probably just made some snide comment comparing Corcoran to "Johnny from Burger King". I actually feel like I learned something about a player reading this column!

Are we the only ones who notices how badly Ryan outclasses CHB every time he writes. By Ryan's standards, he could have done today's column in his sleep. I Hope Thanksjoe is on another long vacation.

It's remarkable, isn't it? I read his column, and for the first time in about a month of reading the Globe, I thought, "Holy crap, this is a really good column! I should point it out to people!"

It's always good to give credit where credit is due. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be making these kinds of posts too often. The quality just isn't out there.

I keep meaning to ask around the Globe as to why Ryan is getting top billing these days. Not that I mind it, but something's gone awry with Dirty Laundry Dan.
